Just completed an awesome session with 2 adorable hula hooping sisters!

I’ve mentioned before that this family is not at all short on hugs, kisses, and affection for each other. I am thankful that they allowed me to photograph these great moments!
I am just getting everything wrapped up from this session and wanted to share a few more…

J, J, A and D: Thanks again for the fun! You talked me into a 6 am session and I love shooting that time of day (just wish I could talk more clients into getting up that early)! I enjoyed the energy, affection, and joy of your family.

Another playdate with M&M! This time we went swimming and the girls had a blast. I only took a handful of pics (what you see here is it) because I was just too busy keeping up with their action. They ran circles through the splash park full speed ahead and jumped into the pool hundreds of times.
Notice the ’3 feet’ picture in the bottom right corner? The girls pointed this out and thought it was fun to see the number 3 on the side of the pool (they are both 3 years old). I snapped a quick pic of 2 little feet as they were standing there checking it out.
You see more sun faded effects here with beach pictures (I’m loving it right now so you see it in most of my summer-y pics).
Last year about this time I pulled off my first tutu creation (see above). It’s a handy thing to know how to make tutus. Soooo easy too.
Since this is post 100 on my blog I thought I would celebrate by sharing instructions. Thanks for following my blog and enjoy the creating fun!
Make your own tutus
What you need to start:
an elastic band (measure to fit the waist of your little princess) , 6 inch tulle (on a roll) in desired color or combination of colors, needle & thread
* 1/2 inch elastic works well for babies and toddlers and 1 inch is great for older children – but I use whatever I have on hand…
Easy Peesy instructions:
1. Measure your model and then take off about 2-3 inches of elastic(as you tie and tighten the tulle, it stretches the elastic out)…then sew the ends together in order to make the waistband.
2. Cut strips of tulle off the roll in the desired length.
Note: Decide on the length you would like the tutu to be and double it. If you want the tutu to be 10 inches, cut the strips into 20 inch strips.
3. At this point, you simply tie knots around the elastic in a loop knot, alternating directions (and alternating colors, if you wish). Make sure to tie the knots really tight. Also, make sure you scrunch your tulle together really well so the tutu is full.
4. When you are finished, fold the strips over so they are pointing the same direction. Fluff and wear!
