  • WELCOME!

Hi there! Thank you so much for visiting the Kelly Anderson photo blog. That's me (in my pajamas) photographing my 3 little loves. As you can see it's the fun, intimate, everyday moments that I love to capture!

Blogstalkers, You are sure to notice some changes around here. The appearance of this blog is under construction so please ignore the design elements for now. Existing posts appear as they did before so you can read/comment/pin as usual.

We'll be up and ready soon! Thanks again for visiting!

just one (and it’s really quite fun)…

I am so overdoing it with Dr. Seuss these days (we read book after book after book).  Everything I think and say lately has a tendency to have a rhyme in it.

Anyway, just one pic for now.

I have holiday cards galore to work on tonight so I’ll keep it short.

Here’s just a glance at the AWESOME family that I photographed yesterday…

more soon!

the ice cream truck

snowconecollage2

One thing I love about living in Arizona right now is that the ice cream truck comes by our house every few days (always right at dinner time but that’s okay because we’re actually home then).  The girls hear the music playing down the street and run around with great anticipation as I search out spare change.  The ice cream man always stops at our place and waits for us (he knows we’re coming if we aren’t waiting right at the curb)…so even if we’re not that quick we still get the treats.  We all love the same thing:  jolly rancher snowcones.  Totally the family favorite.  Nobody strays from the classic selection.  M gets the rainbow variety and the rest of us get the watermelon flavor.

This shirt is for my niece, Olivia.  J was wearing it on this particular day and it made for a cute photo-op for Gorno Couture (available at www.lisagorno.etsy.com)

The Cinderella dress + plastic slippers = her sheer delight

The Cinderella mural  + exposed brick = my sheer delight

My jaw dropped when I came upon this painted mural.  My daughters will absolutely love this location.  Can’t wait to do more shoots here!

blikre family: 1st glimpse

blogbwIMG_1405e

I had the great privilege of doing a photo session with this awesome couple and their 3 kiddos earlier this week.  The word here is LOVE.  Love for each other, love for others, love for life…this family knows the good life and it shows in all their actions. It was simply wonderful to spend the evening with them!

The best part about photographing this family (for me) is that I have a connection to them from earlier years (before marriage and children).  I went to college (undergrad years) at Concordia with ‘B’ and I had also met his wife ‘J’ nearly 10 years ago when we all first moved to Arizona.  It was so great to catch up with them a decade later (can’t believe it’s been that long!) and meet their a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e children.

And speaking of those kiddos…here’s a very small sneak peek from their photo session.  All of the images you see here were taken in our first minutes together.  I have many more pictures to review so watch out for continued posts from this family session.

We started out by jamming to the musical talents of three very inspired drummers (holiday popcorn tins make awesome drums).  It wasn’t long, of course,  before the music and dancing turned to jumping/laughing/shouting.  As my daughter likes to say (quoted from the Where the Wild Things Are)…”let the wild rumpus begin!”

As you can see, it did not take long for this trio to warm up to me.  As I mentioned, these pictures were all taken in the first minutes of our session.  The kids were very playful and full of energy (which makes for some great true-to-life pictures).  High energy family = high energy pictures.  That’s what you get here!

J and B – I am so happy that you asked me to do your family pictures and feel blessed that I had the chance to share the evening with you  (it was swonderful to catch up a bit after all these years have passed).  I would soooo love to get our families together for fun times!

That’s all for now.  A small preview…but I know you are excited to see a few images so I wanted to get the first pictures posted.  Now, it’s time to get back to work on the others…

the cozy color hat

Another Marili Jean design!

I’m in the process of gathering a few individual pictures for a promotion that MJ will be doing in the following weeks and this one caught my eye.  My daughter calls this one the cozy color hat and that’s the perfect name for it.  You can see how cozy it is — just look at that awesome texture.  The color is bright and bold (always loooooove that).
