My favorite sessions are true-to-life…and this golf outing was exactly that!
What I loved about this session:
- sweet autumn light – golden, buttery tones
- a second session with the awesome Baeth family
- lovely family connections
- true-to-life family activity
- Wonderful location and exceptional staff at Little Crow Golf Course – THANK YOU!
- I hired on my 1st photographer assistant! 3 year old Delaney took over my ‘back-up’ camera (the teal Holga 135) and totally rocked the session. She hung out at my side and guided her parents on what to do at each step. Her instructions to mom and dad: ’Now kiss!…Good job!’
- Every minute was so fun – hopefully you can see that in the pics!
One challenge…it got cold quickly and that was tough for the baby (although we totally lucked out with amazing weather to begin with that was completely out of the ordinary for end of Oct).
There are hundreds of amazing images from this shoot and I’ve had the hardest time narrowing them down. Watch out for some more favorites soon (yes, there are even more)…

The highlight of today was a BBQ and swimming fun with the Schotz family. Always fun!
Madelyn and Madison have been the best of friends since they were just babies. The 2 of them have had hundreds of playdates over these last 5 years and share so many great memories. We will surely miss this sweet girl (+ her amazing family). Can’t wait to have them visit us in MN for a summer vaca!
This picture was taken last month at our pool party. Tonight was one of those times that I decided to leave my camera at home (I have been hauling it with me so often these days so it was a much needed break).

Sometimes reading a book is the best together time.
‘I like me!’ by Nancy Carlson is a family favorite. I love the message – it’s about a cheerful pig (Louanne) who has great self esteem, self acceptance, and self confidence. Louanne is her own best friend. She knows how to take care of herself and has the confidence to pick herself up and try again whenever she makes a mistake.
I remember reading this book to my little sister when she was a toddler 20 some years ago. Ah, time flies so fast! Madelyn has known this book by memory since age 3 and it’s the sweetest thing to listen when she reads aloud.
Tonight I had a surprise gift for my (almost) school girl. This shabby vintage crown made her eyes sparkle and my own heart swoon.

RIO is far and away the girls’ favorite movie so it was an obvious choice for our countdown to kinder. Madelyn begs me to watch it with her every.single.day. so it’s about time I say YES (like really yes…I’ll fully engage in this and not multitask 4 other projects at the same time).
It turned out to be a perfect night.
Singing, dancing, laughing, cuddling…as good as it gets. For sure.

Just a glimpse for now. Our poolside photo booth went over so well! The kids had so much fun picking out their props and making funny faces. I will share details (and many more pictures) a bit later.
