Just a glimpse of some things in the works today:

Maui photo sessions…

a newborn homecoming…

Printing new client CDs!  I’ve learned that 99% of you want digital images so I’m working on new packages and planning to organize my pricing structure with this in mind.  I want you to have the freedom to print your images as you please (use them and love them).  You should not have to agonize over whether to order a 5×7 or 8×10 — print what you like whenever you want.   Watch for more info on new packages coming soon.

Just a few more to go from a session with these cute cousins….

Also: designer spotlight photos and a few give-aways (coming soon!)

Over President’s Day weekend I was lucky enough to get together with my friend, Laurie (the creative talent behind Marili Jean Accessories) and her sweet daughter, Marili.  They came for a whirlwind trip from Colorado and I was so happy to get together with them and take pictures of the real Marili (the company is named after her so it was time she finally had her first modeling session).  She is the most beautiful girl with rosy cheeks and wide eyes.  Just a few pics for now while I work on the others.  How cute is this duo?

Laurie, Thank you so much for everything!  We were all happy to have you here in AZ and the girls LOVE you.  Thanks for giving them so much care and attention (reading book after book, wresting fun, imaginative play, etc).  You are the best!

Marili is wearing the newest hats from the MJ spring line in most of these pictures.  Here’s the link:  www.marilijean.com

the colors in this one below are a bit different (just playing around with a softer/muted look)….

I’ve posted many pictures over the past months featuring the fabulous Marili Jean hat company (scroll down to see more).

It is the week of thanksgiving and I want to express a HUGE thanks to all the awesome families that invite me to share in your lives and special moments. I love what I do so much and am most grateful for the time shared with my clients.  Thank you for inviting me in and allowing me to share in the magic of your family connections.  I am so grateful to be with you.

I am thankful to be a part of moments and memories such as these…

These pics are from a session that I had over the weekend.  I gave them a special ‘fall style’ for this thanksgiving post.  Sneak peek from this family session coming soon!

I had a wonderful session last week with a sweet baby girl and her loving family.  This little one had newborn pictures taken when she was just days old (best time for the newborn curl factor) so this was her 2nd photo shoot already.  5 weeks old and fast becoming a pro model!  She certainly has the look for it.

This session was focused on the family enjoying their new baby blessing and the day-to-day interactions between the 5 of them.

I’ll share just a few B&W images for now while awaiting calibration…

First, the proud big brothers:

Asleep in a Chirstmas stocking…how cute is that?  I could have taken pictures for hours.  So precious.

I know, I know…enough with the lollipop pictures already!  Sorry to post yet another but I can’t resist.  ‘J’ went crazy when she saw her big sister working the giant lollipop and desperately wanted one too.  Hmmm…I guess…as long as I can turn it into a photo opp.

I’m just a little biased but I think she’s pretty cute!

And you know by now that I have to make everything into a collage (I love how the series of images tells a story)…

How cute is she?

cakeblog

Celebrating with a cake… ready to make a big mess!  Before we see that, notice the adorable outfit!  The fancy hat, ruffle pants, and ’1′ shirt are all Mady and Lu items and available for purchase…or you can just borrow them for your KA photo session.

Does this background look familiar?  Sorry about the overload on lime polka dots here on this blog post (since they match the background and all).  So, here’s the story.  Mom wanted something fun and fresh for her daughter’s 1st birthday milestone (with pink and green colors to match her room).  She mentioned that she loved the green polka dot background on my blog and asked if I had a similiar backdrop.  Hmmm…that got me thinking and I told her I’d do my best.  I love when clients bring up ideas…it’s fun to follow up with what they have in mind and make it happen.  I was happy to challenge myself and then pull through for her with this end result.  She was quite amazed to get exactly what she asked for.

Just take a look at this goofy little girl!  She is just bursting with gleeeee…thrilled to dig her little fingers into that cake!

Thanks for the fun, sweet girl!  Wishing you a splendid birthday!

Your galley will be up shortly…

There’s this great little ‘shack’ just down the street from our place.  Those who have visited us know it’s a family favorite.  Can you guess the location? J and I drove by the other night and I noticed the great angles throughout the patio area.   The sun was setting in the next hour so I ran home to grab my camera and fisheye lens.

I like these shots because they capture J doing her thing - running, laughing, playing, loving.  She takes her baby with her everywhere (a favorite gift from cousin olivia).  Just look at her love on that baby!

And the collage (I always like to put one together!)…

If you like the fisheye lens (I think it’s awesome for pics of little kids) let me know and I’ll be sure to pack it along for your family session.
