I’m working on the photo session that I mentioned in my last post and realizing that there are a lot of images so I will share just a few more now and the others later.  There are a couple ‘sister’ pictures here that really capture the closeness of these 2 sweet little girls.  Enjoy!

Here’s big sis ‘A’ telling secrets…

Lil sis ‘D’ thought that was so fun that she wanted to give it a try too.  I love this next picture because it shows how she found it necessary to hold up her big sister’s hair in order to whisper in her ear.  So funny!

Here’s 4 year old ‘A’.  What an adorable expression!  I’m pretty sure this one will make mom and dad m-e-l-t.  So sweet!

Oh, the love of these girls!  There were so many great moments between the two of them.  All I had to do was play along with them and keep clicking.  Keeping up with their every move allowed me to catch moments like this…

Here’s lil sis ‘D’.  This was taken at the start of our session while she was trying to figure me out.  As you can see in the other pics she warmed up a little later on.  I love the serious expressions as much as the smiles so this one is a keeper in my book.

I posted this one above in B&W but can’t resist sharing it in color as well.  Sometimes that decision is so tough!  Color or B&W?  What to do?

Here’s mom and dad…now you can see where the girls get their good looks!

I’m working on the images from yesterday’s session and loving the great downtown/city style backgrounds. I have many images to go through but these 4 caught my eye so I thought I’d share. Just a preview…more to come!

I’m working on some ads for the designer of this cute little holiday skirt and just by chance my daughter’s sock monkey made it into the picture. I love it when these moments happen on their own.  So often, I work with my clients to plan all the props for a perfect concept (always a fun process) but every once in awhile a child (without intention) decides on just the right thing.  When we went out to take a few pics, M grabbed her sock monkey at the last minute before heading out the door. Once we started shooting, she told me that she wanted to have her monkey in the picture.  I almost asked her to leave it in the car and then I caught myself and realized that she had something there.  What’s better to include in a children’s picture than his or her most loved toys?  Great idea, M.  You are a fabulous stylist!

What can you do in 5 minutes?  A super quick photo session in the AZ heat!

Both of my girls have worn this fish costume for their 1st halloween events.  Last week I realized that it still fits ‘J’ – barely.  I thought I’d take her out for a quick mini costume session before packing it up to take over to goodwill (this will make a great costume for some little babe this year – perfect timing).   This turned out to be my quickest session yet!  It lasted all of 5 minutes.  It’s just too hot in AZ (even at 6 pm) to keep a little one in a head-covered outfit.  I snapped a couple quick shots and let ‘J’ splash in the fountain a bit to keep cool.  She loved it!  We kept the AC running in the car and jumped right back in after just a few shots.  Here’s what happens in a 5 minute quickie session:

I had a fun family photo session early this morning.  I started photographing these girls (along with their mom and dad) at 6:30 am.  Look at the energy here – you’d never guess it was at the crack of dawn!  These images were fun and spirited so I couldn’t resist a little play.  I just had to funk up the style a bit  - the colors and the attitude called for it.   The girls were skipping, spinning around light posts, twirling, dancing, hugging, loving…you name it.  Actually, the entire family was all about having fun regardless of the early hour.  They were not short on hugs and kisses either so you will see a lot of love in these pictures.  More images to come (including mom and dad too) in a short while but I wanted to share my playtime editing for now.

Time to get back to work!  I have many things that I’m busy with…this session, last weekend’s session, designer spotlight edits, and prepping for Saturday’s session (not to mention my other life).  Photography is keeping me busy and I’m loving it!

A couple older pics that I just dug up during website revisions…

These were taken on a day at the zoo.  Sugar-y drinks are typically off limits for both of these girls but on a special occasion it’s fun to break the rules.   A warm day at the zoo was one of those times.  Luckily there were free refills because these two went through several cups of lemonade.

These two little friends sometimes share really well.  Other times, not so much.  When it comes to lemonade, they do just fine.  It helps to have 2 straws, of course.

I am shooting every chance I get to prepare for the upcoming designer spotlight ( + her boutique’s website launch – see previous post for more info).   The fabrics are soooo amazing – you will love them!  Here’s one more quick peek of what’s to come.  I just love the turquoise accent on this top/dress.  I have great things to say about these designs but I will save that for later.  This is just a hint of what’s to come…

Can I please cram more hours in a day?  There are so many pictures to take and not enough time.

A new ‘designer spotlight’ is in the works!  Sooooo fab too – unique fabrics and cute style.  Here’s just a little peek at what’s to come.  I’m working on some images for this designer’s new website launch so will keep most pictures under wraps until then. Watch out for info and more pictures soon!

Remember: You can see other great designers featured in previous posts.  The first featured designer was Kelli from Oh sew sweet – you can see her work here: http://kellyandersonphotography.com/blog/category/designer-spotlight/.

Brooke and Sean are my very loyal aussie clients.  I have worked with them on a couple projects now and so happy that they keep coming back for more creative collaborations.  Always a pleasure!

This is a simple fold-over notecard to be used as a wedding thank you.  Names are not concealed here because you can read them anyway, right on the card.

The couple wanted to stick with the ‘brooke + sean’ typography that had been used on previous wedding materials (see the save the date card at the bottom of this post).  The awesome wedding photograph is reversed the opposite direction and faded to 50% opacity when the card is opened to fill in the open space that is typically blank.

The outside (front and back when folded over):

Here’s the inside.  Photo is faded and flipped the opposite direction.  A slightly distressed and coordinating texture on the right side for the thank you note.  Isn’t this just more interesting than plain old white?

And there you have it!  Congrats Brooke and Sean!  If the first comes love thing rings true for you I will be happy to do your maternity/newborn pics and birth announcements someday.  I think I need to take a trip to Australia for that!

p.s.  Below is a picture of a ‘Save the date’ card that I made for them last year (before my blogging days) using the same brooke+sean logo.
