Scroll through a few pages. Some of the pics are quite funny (others not so much so scroll on). Enjoy the awkwardness – and please…don’t get any ideas for your next photo session!

watermelon picnic
Posted on March 8, 2010

At the end of my photo session last night we finished things off with a good ‘ol MESSY watermelon picnic. Delicious! The kids loved it and I was thrilled with their expressions. Picture perfect. Before we cut open the giant fruit, we couldn’t resist this picture…

not an entirely new idea – but still fun!
The watermelon was a tad over 16 pounds. Any guesses on what baby O’s birth weight will be? We should start a contest.
Now for the juicy fun…

You can see the juicy deliciousness of this melon. It was so juicy that the boys couldn’t even sit down to eat it. They had to stand up and hold the fruit out away from them so that the juice could land on the ground. Their shirts were still covered after only piece.

More pictures from this family session to come!
Also – baby O will have her newborn photo shoot in April so you will see this family grow to a happy SIX very soon.

fashion friday
Posted on March 5, 2010

What should we wear? Always the big question in planning a family photo session. I’ve decided to share some different ideas of how a family may coordinate clothing. Every few weeks I will post a new family ensemble. The collections you see on my blog are simply for inspiration (please don’t go out shopping to hunt down the exact pieces you see here…not a fun task). The easiest way to plan clothing for a family photo shoot is to use the same approach as if you were putting a single outfit together. Make sure the colors blend and compliment – but mix it up a bit and make it fun. Once you have the main pieces coordinated (like you see here) consider adding a few extras (a statement necklace for mom, a knitted hat for one of the kiddos, etc).
p.s. If you are having a slow start, pick one pattern piece and pull the colors from that piece to put everything else together. Notice in this collection all of the colors are pulled from the little girls madras shorts.

Love: families (video #2)
Posted on February 21, 2010
Some of you have been waiting for this! I am happy to share the second video of preschoolers and their grandparents (+ families). On this particular day, there were many siblings and parents (in addition to grandparents) at the event. Can you believe that ALL of these pictures were taken in the span of 45 minutes? Thanks so much to the fabulous teachers for helping me get a moment with each of the families. You gals are the best!
p.s. reminder: please pause the music in the upper left corner of this blog before starting the slideshow.

Marili and mama
Posted on February 16, 2010

Over President’s Day weekend I was lucky enough to get together with my friend, Laurie (the creative talent behind Marili Jean Accessories) and her sweet daughter, Marili. They came for a whirlwind trip from Colorado and I was so happy to get together with them and take pictures of the real Marili (the company is named after her so it was time she finally had her first modeling session). She is the most beautiful girl with rosy cheeks and wide eyes. Just a few pics for now while I work on the others. How cute is this duo?
Laurie, Thank you so much for everything! We were all happy to have you here in AZ and the girls LOVE you. Thanks for giving them so much care and attention (reading book after book, wresting fun, imaginative play, etc). You are the best!
Marili is wearing the newest hats from the MJ spring line in most of these pictures. Here’s the link: www.marilijean.com

the colors in this one below are a bit different (just playing around with a softer/muted look)….

I’ve posted many pictures over the past months featuring the fabulous Marili Jean hat company (scroll down to see more).

Love: Grandparents
Posted on February 10, 2010
This week I am photographing children with their grandparents (and great grandparents) at a local preschool as a special project for Valentine’s day. This video shows just a few pictures from day 1. It is such a joy to see the children interact with their grandparents. What a special relationship it is! Enjoy…
p.s. There is music on this slideshow. Please make sure to pause the music in the top left corner of this blog so that the 2 songs do not play at the same time (just a little annoying).

Another favorite story locked into memory. You can barely see the cute Olivia outfit in this picture — but I’ll post more about that later. In the meantime, check out the Noah and Lilah site to see more details.

LOVE this series!!!! Perfect color. Fun expressions.
Adorable series of pictures!
It would be so neat of this family to order a collage of this photo shoot…..it would be a unique way of remembering the demographics of their family while baby O is on her way!
Good idea Kjerstin – I like that!
