Black Friday has come and gone (I totally avoided the mall, as usual)…and now the Christmas season is in full swing! If you’re looking for unique, handcrafted gifts take a look through the designer spotlight for some of my top picks.
The latest and greatest designer that I want to introduce is Lisa from Gorno Couture. You’ve seen her awesome monogram shirts in some of my recent pics and I’ve been getting tons of emails asking where to find them. Here’s your answer: www.lisagorno.etsy.com
I love the Christmas colors – perfect for a festive pic…

I have more pics of the monogram shirts coming…just one for now because I wanted to get this posted asap in order to answer your questions about where to shop. I love handmade and am so happy to promote the creative people that make such special items.
The hat, of course, is Marili Jean (www.marilijean.com)and you see it in many of my pics these days. The MJ design concept is perfection: simple, comfortable, versatile, easy…and adorable. I am in love with this sweet newsboy style. Laurie, you rock!!!

I found a file on my computer tonight labeled Nov 28 and thought it was strange as I do not organize by date (at least anymore…apparently I did at one time). I opened it up out of curiousity and found images of my girl M playing bakery. I am simply amazed that this was ONE year ago today! Children grow and change so fast. I try to keep all these memories so solid in my mind and they escape me so fast. Before I stumbled upon some of these old pictures, I had totally forgotten how much younger she looked just one year ago.
p.s. yes, Photog friends, this is the snapshot variety (flash and all)

This little skirt is one that both of my girls will be wearing here, there, and everywhere this season. The same skirt somehow fits both of them perfectly. It’s got an elastic waist so it will work for years (which is so great since it is a seasonal fabric). I love that Noah and Lilah offers that sort of versatility in everything they carry.

It is the week of thanksgiving and I want to express a HUGE thanks to all the awesome families that invite me to share in your lives and special moments. I love what I do so much and am most grateful for the time shared with my clients. Thank you for inviting me in and allowing me to share in the magic of your family connections. I am so grateful to be with you.
I am thankful to be a part of moments and memories such as these…

These pics are from a session that I had over the weekend. I gave them a special ‘fall style’ for this thanksgiving post. Sneak peek from this family session coming soon!

Thanks to Sherri (the creative talent behind Noah and Lilah), M is styln’ this season. I love how different one dress can look with the various combinations of layers worn with it. Perfect style: cute, comfy, and totally versatile. Check out the brown peasant dress (and many others) at www.etsy.com/shop/noahandlilah

Today we had a Thanksgiving feast at M’s preschool — complete with a special presentation from the children and delicious food for all the family. I am always so impressed by the creativity and organization from M’s teachers. They are wonderful and we are very thankful that she is part of such a great school program.
I did not take many pictures at the event simply because the kids performed in an area where lighting was a bit impossible. Here’s a few snapshot variety images of M with some of her friends.
How adorable are the pilgrim shoes with the yellow construction paper buckles? And the colored macaroni necklaces? So fun!

Chapped lips (ouch!)…not the best image but this is the only one that she allowed me to take during the event. She was too busy running around with her friends.

This one below is my favorite of the day: J and dada watching the kids singing songs. J loved to see the activity of the older children. She so badly wanted to jump down from his arms and join the song and dance.

Yes, the Marili Jean hat has kind of become her signature look these days. A quick and easy style-maker!
After taking these shots in the first minutes, I decided to pack it up and simply enjoy the event. Sometimes that is so important. Too often I am busy behind the camera and do not enjoy these experiences to the fullest.

I am so overdoing it with Dr. Seuss these days (we read book after book after book). Everything I think and say lately has a tendency to have a rhyme in it.
Anyway, just one pic for now.
I have holiday cards galore to work on tonight so I’ll keep it short.
Here’s just a glance at the AWESOME family that I photographed yesterday…
more soon!

One thing I love about living in Arizona right now is that the ice cream truck comes by our house every few days (always right at dinner time but that’s okay because we’re actually home then). The girls hear the music playing down the street and run around with great anticipation as I search out spare change. The ice cream man always stops at our place and waits for us (he knows we’re coming if we aren’t waiting right at the curb)…so even if we’re not that quick we still get the treats. We all love the same thing: jolly rancher snowcones. Totally the family favorite. Nobody strays from the classic selection. M gets the rainbow variety and the rest of us get the watermelon flavor.

This shirt is for my niece, Olivia. J was wearing it on this particular day and it made for a cute photo-op for Gorno Couture (available at www.lisagorno.etsy.com)
