fade out

I am loving the sun fade look right now.

I am also loving the pure joy that can be seen in a little girl learning to swim and achieving her goals step by step.

I took ‘M’ swimming last night for some one on one time together.  We have been in the water many evenings this summer and it’s fun to see ‘M’ learn new things week to week.  Some of the tasks have been taught in swimming lessons — but many have been learned from simple play.  Since she is able to play and swim without being held constantly, I was able to snap some pics before getting in the water.  Once I put my camera away and got in the pool with her it was serious playtime.  ‘M’ jumped in and out of the pool over a hundred times before she was tired enough to call it good.

Fade is the new fad for me.  It doesn’t work with everything but it sure is fun for just the right batch of pictures.  Check it out…

As you can see, the little mermaid swam with us (she usually does).  Ariel is the best water/bath toy ever!  This doll has kept both of our girls entertained for hours.  We’ve had her with us on most swimming outings this summer so I was glad to get some pictures of this.   A good summer ’09 memory.

Thanks for looking.  It’s a different look but I like to experiment.  This satisfies my need for sun faded creativity today.

Wow!! I’ve never seen anything like this before. Darling pictures!!
I like how you have the mini pictures all together in a collage with all of your sessions. Is it possible to order this sort of thing or is used only for features on your blog?

I am so amazed by this. My daughter also has this Little Mermaid doll and I’ve never had a thought about it being anything worth a single photo (let alone a series like this). It’s fun to see how you take a child’s simple enjoyment and turn it into an art. These pictures will always be a wonderful memory for this lovely little girl.

Many thanks! Amy – to answer your question, yes – the collages are available (and a great deal too). I always add a handful of collage options to your personal gallery and they can be purchased for the same price as any single image (no extra cost – gotta love that).

Awesome photos! What a great model you have too. How do you manage to get children to cooperate so well? That is quite a skill. The pictures that I’ve seen are all so fun and original! It’s a very good thing that you have taken on photography. The combination of your design work + great style + photography is perfect. Rock star!

[...] the sun faded pictures that I posted last month?  See this post if you are new to my blog.  I tried the same fade effects with some new pool [...]
